It started as part of an antique festival in the War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale in the 1990s. Eventually, the plant sale branched out into its own event. It was usually held once a year but the BCPA is now held in May and October.

It's hard work organizing the Plant Affair and we can use all the help we can get. At the end of the day, we're all so proud and deliriously happy.
The PHS supports the Plantation Historical Museum through various fundraisers such as the BCPA.
Betty Cobb was the founder of the BCPA and a very active member in the community and the PHS. A scholarship is given to a high school senior in her memory every year since her passing in 2017.
